Land Acknowledgement

I’m based out of Burlington, Ontario, on the unceded lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Anishinabewaki, Anishinaabem, Haudenosaunee, and Attiwonderonk (Neutral) peoples.

They have lived here for thousands of years, having a symbiotic relationship with the land, its animals, waters, and plants. Their lands were stolen through four treaties:

  • Between the Lakes Treaty (No. 3) in 1792.
  • Brant Tract Treaty (No. 8) in 1797.
  • Head of the Lake Treaty (No. 14) in 1806.
  • Ajetance Treaty (No. 19) in 1818.

I embrace the responsibility of honouring and respecting these lands, waters, plants, animals, and ancestors. I offer my most sincere gratitude for their past and present care of our beautiful Earth, and I strive to live in a symbiotic relationship with everything she has to offer, to the best of my abilities in our modern world.
